Crown Reductions

A crown reduction is a pruning technique that transfers weight from branch ends to a strong, developing lateral branch, which will eventually form a new crown. In addition to eliminating any branches with significant flaws, the process shortens, weighs down, or overextends long, heavy branches. While the tree's structural integrity is not compromised, the result is a smaller crown.
